Grandma is a large-scale multiplayer action game that centers around the conflict between humans and alien-robot forces. Players pick a side before entering each match and compete in arenas designed for tactical movement and ranged combat. The visual design combines grounded sci-fi elements with fast-paced team-based gameplay. Every round pits teams against each other in varied modes that reward both solo efficiency and group coordination.
Before deployment, players select a main weapon, a secondary weapon, and a lethal device. Options include rifles, energy-based weapons, launchers, and area-denial tools. Each item affects how players interact with the environment and respond to threats. Loadouts can be saved and adjusted between matches, allowing for different strategies depending on the mode or map. Successful players tend to adapt based on the opposing faction’s tactics and the current objective.
Each match can host up to 100 online players, divided into sides with distinct visual cues and voice lines. Game modes include capture the king, rush, team deathmatch, and conquest. Capture the king centers on defending or eliminating a single high-value target. Rush focuses on destroying or defending timed objectives. Team deathmatch rewards eliminations, while conquest involves capturing and holding multiple zones. These modes rotate across levels that include deserts, city ruins, space platforms, and underground bunkers.
Levels are designed with verticality, destructible elements, and cover systems. Players must learn movement paths, sniper angles, and spawn zones to perform effectively. Some maps include environmental hazards such as toxic gas, collapsing floors, or automated turrets that target specific factions. Each match changes slightly depending on player count and faction composition, keeping the experience unpredictable and tense.
The level of violence in Grandma is similar to military shooters. Players engage in real-time shooting with visual and audio effects that reflect direct conflict. Although the characters may be stylized, the combat includes realistic recoil, reload animations, and tactical movement. The game does not include gore but does involve intense combat sequences. Voice chat, enemy taunts, and faction-based dialogue add additional intensity to competitive matches.
